Artel has worked with United Living on numerous projects and has built up a good rapport and working ethos between both companies. This project is a mixed development consisting of 154 residential apartments with a 1600m2 commercial space at ground level, over 11 storeys high. The site is situated in the heart of Kings Cross and positioned on the banks of Regents Canal.
Challenges
Artel’s main concerns on this site were the close proximity of the rail tracks on the east region. We used 5-meter tubes to resolve the problem. The scaffold was erected for protection to the building at floor level and then adapted for brickwork cladding, with beam work installed to areas where the scaffold could not be grounded due to services or access issues.
