Birmingham Gateway is the redevelopment of Birmingham New Street Station. A key hub in the UK national rail network and the only underground mainline station in the UK, the station is currently used by 150,000 passengers a day – working at twice its original design capacity.
Artel Scaffolding was engaged by Keltbray to provide the demolition scaffold of the 20-storey residential Stephenson Tower which looms over the station. The solution was to provide a progressive, demolition scaffold. Artel Scaffolding achieved delivery of this on time and on budget, through strict management of dismantling progress meetings and timetables, being fully aware of the Health and Safety considerations, expert knowledge of Link-Up requirements and considerations, along with the use of a consistent and professional team of scaffold operatives.
