Redevelopment of a 19th-century red brick mansion
The purpose of the redevelopment of 1 Sloane Gardens was to create a luxury boutique hotel with a new mansard roof extension. This project is particularly complex as the property is 6 story, 4 sided and is curved with numerous archways, soffits and challenging corner.
Artel was instructed by Keltbray to build for the demolition, the external façade was retained and the building was wrapped in an authentic representation of the Edwardian building. This is a very busy area with the need to keep access available for the retail outlets at all times and stringent noise regulations. Protection Fans were erected to keep the public safe.
